check your user account attributes "su" it should be set to true.<p>Check the root group membership definition.<p>I encountered this error once when the primary group<br>wasn't defined on the /etc/group.<p><p>: Hi,<br>: I did the following:<p>: $su root<br>: root's Password: ( I gave correct password )<br>: 3004-503 cannot set process credentials: No permission<p>: Can any one tell me what's wrong and what I shold do in order to login as root?<p>: TIA<p>: Jack<br>: <p>

Check that the user's GID defined in /etc/passwd actually exists in /etc/group
